February 4, 2017 - NPE Children Performed in Nyack Center Black History Celebration  

The children of NPE performed an original play on the African diaspora in the Caribbean as part of the Nyack Center's Black History Celebration on Saturday, February 4th at 7pm.  The play took place at the Nyack Center which is located at 58 Depew Ave., Nyack, NY 10960.  To check out the 2017 performance and prior plays by the NPE children click here.

February 11, 2017 - Chess and the Brain   

NPE partnered with the New Rochelle - White Plains Kappa League to offer a Conference and Chess Exhibition featuring the 1st African-American Chess Master, Maurice Ashley.  The event was held February 11, 2017 from 9am -3pm in Rockland Community College Student Union Building Rm. 3214.  

February 2017 -  NPE 2017 Student Scholarship 

Each year NPE offers scholarships to eligible high school seniors.  This year applications were due February 28, 2017, and winners were announced during Summer 2017.

February 26, 2017 to April 30, 2017 -  2017 SAT and ACT Prep Classes 

NPE hosted it's discounted 2017 SAT and ACT Prep Classes for the community from February 26, 2017 to April 30, 2017.  For more details, please check out the flyer below:

NPE hosted its annual Summer Music, Wine and Arts Festival on Saturday July 8, 2017 from 12 noon - 5pm at the Palaia Winery (10 Sweet Clover Rd., Woodbury, NY 10930).

The event featured well known musical artists such as Special Ed, emerging local musical artists, original arts and crafts and wine from the Palaia Winery. 

Proceeds from the event help to offset the cost of the SAT/ACT Prep, NPE Scholarships and College Tours that NPE offer each year.    

NPE took 40 students on a college tour by bus that featured visits to MIT, Boston University, Yale, USMA West Point, University of Hartford, University of Connecticut, Harvard and Brown.  Below are some pictures from the College Tour.    

November  2017 - NPE Volunteers Paint and Decorate Home for Homeless Mothers  

NPE members painted and decorated a dining room and nursery at the Good Counsel Homes - Spring Valley location.  Here are some pictures from the volunteer activity:

NPE hosted its annual Holiday Gala Saturday December 9, 2017.  The theme this year was Black White and Gold.  The Gala featured award winning artist Montell Jordan as well as DJ Stretch. 

Proceeds from the event help to offset the cost of the SAT/ACT Prep, NPE Scholarships and College Tours that NPE offer each year.
